(L to R) BWO, Hendrickson, Sulphur, Cahill, Hendrickson Spinner, Sulphur

I will teach you to tie flies that I fish on a daily basis to fool trout from Manatawny Creek to Penns Creek. My approach to tying is to keep it simple, show some contrast and make it buggy looking.
The skinny: 75 dollars for the fly tying class and meal. It is an additional 100 dollars if you choose to be guided on Manatawny Creek after the meal. This is at a reduced rate from my normal fees. We will fish from roughly 430pm to 730pm. This should prove to be a wonderful way to spend EARTH DAY.
The tying class will be held at the Yellow House Hotel and will include tying dry flies for Manatawny Creek; followed by a nice meal and the chance to have some guided fishing on Manatawny Creek at a reduced rate.
Class will be limited to 4 tyers. The guiding on Manatawny Creek will be limited to 2 anglers. The first 2 tyers of the 4 tyers who state, Yes--I'd like to be guided on Manatawny Creek--will be guided at a reduced rate.
This is not a Basics Class. But, if you have the basics down-- you will have fun at this class. Please bring your own vise and fly tying tools. If you don't have tools, let me know. I will provide a light and all the materials needed to tie the flies.
The fly list may include: Little Black Stonefly, Quill Gordon, Hendrickson, Blue-Winged Olive, Sulphur (2), CDC/Elk Hair Caddis, and a spent spinner. If there is enough time--we may make an attempt to tie an ant, cricket or a Lt. Cahill fly also. I cannot gurantee how many flies the tyers will learn. The goal is to learn one fly per half-hour.

The class will begin at 10am. We will tie dry flies that will allow you to catch trout on the surface primarily for Manatawny Creek; but these flies will catch fish in almost any water that has trout swimming in it.
The class will conclude at 2pm. Immediately followed by a wonderful meal. Your choice will be:
1-- a Crabcake, side salad, vegetable, potato of the day and a non-alcoholic beverage
OR
2-- a Petite Fillet, side salad, vegetable, potato of the day and a non-alcoholic beverage
Water and Iced tea will be provided during the class.

The cost of the class will be 75 dollars per person and includes the 4 hour block of tying instruction and your meal.
The first 2 tyers who wish to be guided on Manatawny Creek following the meal will get a reduced rate of 100 dollars per person. We will most likely be fishing from 430pm to 7pm-- with the potential to match the hatch of a few different species of mayflies. With any luck, you will be able to land a fish on a fly that you just tied !!!

Checking my reports, the potential to match the hatch includes: Quill Gordons, Hendricksons, Little Black Stoneflies, Caddis and Blue-Winged Olives. Nothing is ever written in stone when it comes to emerging bugs. Sometimes they are 2 weeks early and sometimes they could be 2 weeks late. But the potential is there and you won't know what's happening if you are not On The Water !!!
